One of the biggest challenges of supplying a nursing home is ensuring that a home has the best choice of care products available at a competitive price that doesn’t swallow the homes budget.

Bed Wetting in Large Children & Young Adults, Does Libero Have The Answer?

I have mentioned before about the Libero XL Plus diapers for large children, teenagers & young adults, these have been selling particularly well at Bmsupplies.co.uk, we feel this is because there seems to be an age or size that seems to miss out on particular products.
With this in mind we have recently added a new product to our range of Childrens Incontinence Pads & Products.
The Libero Night Comfort is a highly absorbent night-time diaper for older children who wet the bed. It’s as small and flexible as ordinary underpants, so remains invisible underneath pyjamas. It’s easy to put on and take off, and is used exactly like briefs or underpants. If no accident happens, the same diaper can be used for several consecutive nights. Libero Night Comfort comes in a very discrete package.

The Libero Night Comfort is available in two sizes: medium (20-37 kg) and large (35-60 kg).
If you have used this product or know of anyone who has, let us know your opinions of the Libero night comfort.

Red Dissolvable Laundry Bags

As part of our product range we supply a number of products to Nursing homes via our web store at BMsupplies.co.uk, one product I wanted to feature this week is Red Alginate Bags.
These bags are used in the safe handling of soiled or contaminated laundry and really solve the problem of cross contamination from patients or babies while cleaning clothes either on a large scale, for example a residential home or just for keeping contaminated clothes separate from your ordinary wash.

The soiled laundry is placed into the lightweight red bag prior to washing and then placed into the washing machine, where the bag is then dissolved by heat and water; this means that you are not touching your clothes again until they come out nice & clean. This sort of laundry management is particularly important when disease is rife in hospitals or care homes or indeed children's nurseries.

These dissolvable laundry bags are available from our Incontinence website as part of our range.

B&M Supplies: How to buy a cheap Mobility Scooter & get a great deal

Mobility Scooters are great! There is no doubt about it, in fact one of the most pleasurable parts of my job is demonstrating and testing various models for the general public, they come in all shapes and sizes, speeds and styles.

But it’s an unfortunate fact that a lot of companies take advantage of people who are looking for these items on the high street and on-line. Quite often or not we are visited by a customer who will tell us that they spent over £2000 on a scooter that we sell for around £700. Well, the fact is the companies buy these items at reasonable prices then use a number of tricks to lure you into a belief that you are getting a good deal, here’s a few of the tricks of the trade:

High Recommended Retail Price

Let’s look at one of our popular scooters the Cameo 4, it’s a light weight 4mph scooter than can be broken down into 4 separate parts that fit easily into car boot for transportation. The RRP for this product is currently £1,759.00 inc Vat, this is high asking price however we currently sell this model at £707.04 inc VAT but this gives a sales guys an opportunity to use a number of sneaky tricks.

Beware of Part Exchange or Trade in Deals

A lot of mobility shops will offer a trade in for your old scooter, so let’s say a customer wants to part ex his/her scooter and the generous salesman says “ I will give you £500 for you old scooter and I’ll tell you what if you take the scooter today will knock another £100” Sounds good doesn’t it?

Well let’s look at this deal, the sales guy has reduced his price from £1759.00 to £1159 that’s a saving of £600, now remember earlier I mentioned earlier that we sell our at £707.04 inc VAT and we are still making a profit on this but that’s almost double the price we sell the scooter he’s gained a 2nd hand scooter to sell as well.

Sell your old scooter privately you’ll get a better deal, or if its broken give it to a local shop mobility centre, they will be more than happy to fix it up and give it to charity.

Buy one get one free

This seems to be a new one a lot of companies are getting into and it’s not just scooters, we’ve seen ads for by a mobility bed get a recliner free and hundreds of variations of this, so again lets use the cameo 4 as the start of our third scenario, using the RRP as our price I’m going to offer it at Buy one get one free, wow sounds like a great offer doesn’t it, but let’s look at the math’s:
1 x Cameo 4 RRP £1759.00 Divided by 2 that means these are selling at £879 each (by the way that’s a £180 pound profit on each on top of the price we are currently selling this at)

For more information on Mobility Scooters feel free to check our scooter buying guide, call our mobility centre or to price check visit http://www.bmsupplies.co.uk/.

Help Chosing the right Pressure Relieving Mattress

Active Pressure Mattresses or Alternating Mattress is a system designed to make a bedridden patients more comfortable in bed and less likely to suffer from bed sores or pressure sores.

Each of the mattresses works by using an air flow a pump that flows air into a selection of cells, this way the patient is constantly being moved and is less likely to suffer from pressure ulcers.

Harvest Healthcare has a selection of active mattresses designed to suit a number of patients based on what we call a waterlow score.

The waterlow score is the most frequently used system in the UK and it is the most easily understood method you can download your own waterlow score card from the inventor of this system Judy Waterlow’s web site of be clicking here

To find the best mattress for use Harvest healthcare supply a chart to help you choose the right one, this can be found at bmsupplies.co.uk or by clicking here.
I hope this helps
